Derek M. Faulkner

Attorney

Derek Faulkner represents clients in criminal defense, family law, and estate planning matters. He approaches each case with careful preparation, practical guidance, and a commitment to helping clients understand their options and make informed decisions.

Derek brings significant courtroom experience to his criminal defense practice, having worked on both sides of the criminal justice system as a prosecutor and public defender. As a prosecutor, he handled a wide range of criminal matters, from high-level felony domestic violence cases to misdemeanor and driving offenses, including Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated and Driving While Suspended. This experience gave him valuable insight into how criminal cases are investigated, charged, negotiated, and presented in court.

His experience as a public defender further strengthened his ability to evaluate cases from the defense perspective, identify potential weaknesses in the State’s case, protect his clients’ rights, and advocate effectively for individuals facing criminal charges.

In his family law practice, Derek represents clients in matters involving divorce, child custody, parenting time, child support, paternity, and other family-related disputes. He understands that these cases are often deeply personal and emotionally difficult, and he works to provide clients with clear advice, realistic expectations, and strong representation throughout the process.

Derek also assists individuals and families with estate planning. He helps clients prepare for the future through wills, powers of attorney, advance directives, and other estate-planning documents tailored to their individual circumstances and goals.
